Marinepool is proud to announce a partnership with the spectacular Extreme Sailing Series™ series as the “Official Technical and Lifestyle Clothing Supplier” to the series.
The agreement with the series was signed for a 3-year period (2011-2013) and also grants Marinepool exclusive merchandising rights for clothing. The appointment is an important step for Marinepool to further promote its brand on a global scale. The Extreme Sailing Series™ - competing with the Volvo Ocean Race for the top spot as the prime sailing series in 2011/2012 - is the ideal partner to reach a global audience and to promote the maritime lifestyle Marinepool stands for.
Apart from the organisers of the Extreme Sailing Series™ Marinepool is also supplying Team Extreme, the newcomers on the Marinepool Racing Team, skippered by German Roland Gäbler.
About the Skipper
Roland Gaebler raced in the German event in 2009 and skippered Team Wirsol from shore, due to illness, last season. Having won over 50 international titles since 1981, including a Bronze Olympic medal, will mean the team will benefit from his well-rounded experience.
About the Team
This is a new combination of crew sailing together, although they all have previous Extreme 40 experience. Bruno and Sebbe have an exceptional racing pedigree from Round the World races to the Olympics. As the Series event boat they will have a different fourth crew member for each Act to introduce new sailors to the class in markets the circuit has not visited before.

If he wasn’t a sailor he would be a rock star in the music world! However listing the top three things about the Extreme Sailing Series as the real Formula 1 of yachting, adrenalin sailing at its best and rock ‘n roll on the water, he still gets his chance to the be a rock star! An eagle on the water better known as “Rolando” for whom speed is one of the things that makes him tick as an Extreme 40 sailor. A true diplomat when asked which rival team he would like eliminated, he said “we like them all behind us!”
TACTICIAN - Bruno Dubois - 08.09.59
An experienced offshore sailor who has three round the world navigations under his belt and has crossed the Atlantic an impressive 15 times.
TRIMMER - Sebbe Godefroid - 19.03.71
A four time Olympic sailor who brought home a silver medal from Atlanta in 1996.
