The German "fleet of hope" 2013 returned to port

Marinepool supports the annual project "fleet of hope" initated by the charitable association "sunshine4kids" with life jackets and sailing equipment for children. The project lead the participants again into the Dutch sea, for the first time ever under the patronage of the German sailing legend Jochen Schümann. 17 sailing yacht and one flatboat set up this year's "fleet of hope". More than 100 participants set sail, among them social education workers, doctors, psychologists, skippers and yacht owners. However, the protagonists of the projects were the children and youths. The project of Gaby Schäfer, founder of "fleet of hope", addresses children suffering from cancer or having a subling who suffers from cancer, children who have lost one or both parent as well as foster-children.

"This year the fleed again exceeded all expectations. Sharing moments of joy and happiness with these children is just wonderful. Many thanks to all sponsors and volunteers - we would not be able to implement such a great project without your commitment", said Gaby Schäfer.

True to the motto "after the fleet is in advance of the fleet" the organization for 2014 has already started: full speed ahead for happy children's eyes.
