The Normandy Channel Race will start on Sunday 25th

Exclusively dedicated to Class 40 boats, the Normandy Channel Race is a necessary step for the sailors who consider participating in the Route du Rhum next November. This 1000-mile double handed race will lead the fleet from Caen towards the English Channel, the Celtic Sea and the Irish Sea. An opportunity for each skipper to evaluate his potential against his main competitors. The navigation areas will be complicated and will demand relevant tactics at a fast pace.

Damien Seguin, former paralympic champion who has been in partnership with Marinepool for over 15 years, will be onboard with the woman figarist Jeanne Grégoire. Damien knows they both will complete one another : "Jeanne will be the ideal co-skipper. To prepare at best the Route du Rhum - main event of the sailing calendar this year - I need someone who can perfectly analyse the weather conditions and knows about the sailing electronics. So I wanted to race with a figarist because among this boat class, many of the skippers own those skills."

The start will be given on Sunday 25th for 17 registered crews who will probably spend one or two nights offshore.
