She won the final against the stron French team of Claire Leroy 2:1 and added another Gold medal to her collection. With this victory she will further climb the ranks in the ISAF World Rankings. Third in the match race went to Laser Radial Olympic champion Anna Tunnicliffe (USA) who had the better end in the all American petit final.

They expected nail-biter in the 49er medal race became a clear sweep for the Austrian ISAF-World-Ranking leaders Delle Karth/Resch of the Marinepool Racing Team. The were in control from the start in a race characterised by very light winds and crossed the line first.

"Simply perfect" analysed Georg Fundak, Sports Director of the Austrian Sailing Federation, "they dominated the competition today, very impressive!"

It was their fourth top-3 finish during the event and they are travelling with loads of self-confidence to Gydina in Poland, where the 49er European Championship will be held from July 5.

"During the past days we sailed well but were not perfect. Nevertheless, we were in a good position before today´s medal race and it was an ideal race and a well deserved victory", it was already the second time after the Spanish World Cup that the team won a medal race. Now everything seems possible at the the European Championship.

"Kiel was the last test before we attempt to secure the European title. Today we tried a new set of sails and we are very optimistic to win another medal at a European Championship after 2009."

In Laser Radial Franzi Goltz (GER) showed great performance and finished the series in 2nd. She was beaten only by American Page Railey, currently 4th in the ISAF World Rankings.

Another top result from a German point of view was achieved by the Star crew of Babenerde/Jacobs. They also won a silver medal and were second only to superstar Robert Scheidt of Brazil who was only one point ahead after 6 races.

The Marinepool Racing Team also had a great show in the Laser Standard. Junior World and European champion Pavlos Kontides (CYP) finished fourth, one place ahead of Simon Grotelüschen (GER).

Florian Raudaschl (AUT) put all his heart into the medal race today but was not able to improve in the rankings. He was holding a 4th in the final heat, but a penalty for pumping put him at the end of the fleet and the Austrian finished in 8th position eventually.

"I know my skills and eventually I was rewared for my efforts. A top-ten result in one of the World Cups, especially at Kiel Week, the biggest sailing event in the world, is a big boost for my self-confidence and great motivation for coming races", Raudaschl commented satisfied.

After racing in the Olympic classes concluded today, a total of 15 international classes will sail for glory until June 27.
