Day 3 Overalls: Good day for Guichard and his men on Groupe Edmond de Rothschild ending with a win in their match race against Peyron. The French team secured three 2nd places, two 3rd places and a 1st in the final fleet race of the day to steal a march on their rivals. They now have a 111 points and a 16-point lead over their closest rivals Oman Sail Masirah. Ecover will be gutted to see their dominance falter - a 7th, 8th, 3rd, 5th, 4th and 7th - was nowhere near good enough. Conditions today were really tricky - shifty winds and up and down pressure - so it was not easy for any of the teams, some got lucky, some didn't. Mitch Booth was having a great day until The Wave, Muscat ran into the back of them damaging their back beam.
The german Team Wirsol showed a good performance and finished third in one race today.
