news - Extreme 40 Series in Kiel

Aug 26 2010

With a light breeze the Extreme 40 Catamarans start a sailing event of a special kind in Kiel.

Dry and even sunny times bring up to 2000 spectators to the Kielline to watch nine ambitious crews who fight hard for every centimeter.
The German Wirsol team starts the series with challenging conditions. The experienced skipper Roland Gäbler can not come on board because of health reasons and the crew member Gunnar Struckmann has to pass because of an injury. With Tino Mittelmeier at the helm the very young team starts the series with a respectable first run. Ill-starred in the following races they finish the day as ninth overall.
We expect more wind for the second day of racing and up to 8000 guests to follow more spectacular races.
