Sep 01 2010

Yvan Bourgnon and Jérémie Lagarrigue attemt a record for Med crossings

Yvan and Jérémie are on standby for the Challenge Terresens (crossing the Med on a Hobie Cat from Marseille to Carthago) from now until mid-October. You can follow the adventure on www.defi terresens.com. Thanks to Mygeolive.com you can follow in real time the evolution of the cat during its crossing. A facebook page: "terrésens challenge" was also created for the event.

That said, the boat is entirely standard and the objective is to achieve this challenge with a catamaran for everybody. A weather window seemed to open next weekend, for more check the project´s webite. The aim of the French duo is to sustain this event and set a time reference for future candidates of the extreme.

Yvan and Jérémie want to thank all their partners who have contributed to the success of this project, Terresens partner and also Marinepool team for this extreme challenge. Cousin Trestec for the preparation of the boat, Sierraécho which, thanks to a revolutionary new system for searching for man overboard ensures their security, Hobie Cat, which has made sure they will be leaving with new parts, SeaMobile Geolink which provides satellite communications, Julbo for masks that will enable them to fight against the spray. MyGéolive.com who made a superb interface for monitoring the catamaran on the net ... Claude Berger who took a significant risk graciously loaning the duo his catamaran Hobie Cat Fox to achieve this challenge and Jacques Vincent, who oversees the niche weather. Thank you to Jean-Michel Meyers, who designed the decoration of the boat.
