ISAF Sailing World Cup : the best world sailors will gather in Hyères

From April 20th to 26th the French Sailing Federation FFV, long standing partner of Marinepool and the City of Hyères will be hosting the exclusive French stopover of the global ISAF Sailing World Cup, following the first two events of the season in Melbourne (Australia) and Miami (USA).

This event has become the largest dinghy sailing competition in France. Only the 40 best ranked sailors/teams in the ISAF World Ranking in 10 Olympic and 2 Paralympic classes are eligible for entry, guaranteeing absolute top level sport.

The coaches and sailors of the Austrian, Germany and French Sailing Team will be Marinepool ambassadors in Hyères waters. French Jérémie Mion and Sofian Bouvet, who won the 470 Spring Cup in Marseille this week, will try to confirm their top form. Billy Besson and Marie Riou, Nacra 17 double world champions, are among the favourites in their class.

Erik Heil/Thomas Plößel of Sailing Team Germany who won Silver in Palma recently showed that they are a force to be reckoned with. Philip Buhl who won the Palma event in Laser has firmly set his eyes on another podium finish at the World Cup event.

Austria also entered a strong team, however their top star, Lara Vadlau, reigning World and European Champion in 470 is not going to sail in Hyére, she is still recovering from a cruciant ligament rupture in her knee suffered in a skiing accident.

The Marinepool products will be available for sale at the local retailer shop, Voiles Russo - Uship Hyères, located in the middle of the race village.
