The French paralympic Sailing Team is ready for the IFDS World Championship!

The French paralympic Sailing Team is ready to compete in the IFDS World Championship which takes place from 26 to 30 August in Kinsale, Ireland. The competition will be held on the following paralympic series: 2.4mR, Skud and Sonar. Damien Seguin in 2.4 and Bruno Jourdren in Sonar will both represent France as well as Marinepool as they have been partner for years now.

Arrived last Saturday in the city of Cork, the French paralympic Sailing Team has been training under a beautiful Irish sun. For Damien Seguin, winner of the 2012 event, these few days are an opportunity to reconnect with the 2.4 as he has dedicated most of his 2013 season to his new 40-feet boat.

The triple world champion has therefore more modest ambitions than usual: "I think it will be difficult to win as I have focused a lot on my Class 40 these last months. My objective is at least a podium", says the silver medalist in Beijing.
Damien will compete against the English Helena Lucas, gold medalist in London, and the German Heiko Kroeger, winner of the Sailing World Cup Hyères 2013. There are a total of 46 registered boats.

In sonar, Bruno and his crew will give a hard time to their competitors. They were vice-world champions in 2012 and won this year's Sailing World Cup in Hyères as well as the Delta Lloyd Regatta in Medemblik. They dream to add a world title to the list: "We hope to reach the podium and of course the first place", said Bruno Jourdren. With there remarkable results this season, the trio is among the favorites in this serie in which 18 teams are registered.
