Markus Wieser won the Dragon Gold Cup in Douarnenez

The Gazprom International Dragon Gold Cup brought together 77 international teams from 16 to 24 August in the Bay of Douarnenez. The mild weather of these recent days has given hard times to the dragonists who have run most of the competition with little airs and an unpredictable wind. After 6 days of racing, the Ukrainian crew of Markus Wieser (UKR 7) won the Dragon Gold Cup, showing a great consistency, except the very last day when he finished 28th.

He got ahead two Russian teams "Strange Little girl" and "Annapurna". After his victory in May 2013 at the Grand Prix Guyader, also competed in the Bay of Douarnenez - much appreciated by the dragonists -, there´s no doubt that Markus Wieser is among the best sailors of the Dragon class. In partnership with Marinepool for years, Markus wears Marinepool clothing at all national and international competitions.

The next long-awaited 2014 event for the dragon boats will be the Grand Prix Guyader, which happens every year at the beginning of May in the beautiful bay of Douarnenez.
