June 26 2013

Damien Seguin has chosen Yoann Richomme as co-skipper for the upcoming double-handed race, the Transat Jacques Vabre

Damien Seguin, historical partner of Marinepool, has announced he will compete in the Transat Jacques Vabre with Yoann Richomme onboard his class 40 boat ERDF - Des pieds et des Mains. The collaboration between the two sailors has already been a success as they finished second in 2011.

"We wanted to sail again together because everything went very well during the last Transat Jacques Vabre" says Damien, and Yoann´s recent great performances on the Solitaire du Figaro have confirmed their potential. Yoann has indeed crossed the line of this demanding solo-handed race at the fourth place.

"He is in a good momentum !" affirms Damien who can´t wait to begin the trainings on his new boat from July.

Damien Seguin :?« I followed the results of Yoann during the Solitaire du Figaro. The way he managed his race was almost perfect. He was not among the favorites of the fleet, he had doubts before the beginning of the race but he has been very regular and performant at each stopover. He is in a good momentum ! I look forward to sailing with him again for the upcoming Transat Jacques Vabre."

Yoann Richomme :?« It is very important for me to sail on different types of boat. And it is a real pleasure to go onboard again with Damien. The class 40 boat requires more technical competences as the Figaro boat and it is an exciting challenge. I have great memories to the Transat Jacques Vabre we did together in 2011."

Damien et Yoann are already among the favorites for this famous transatlantic race. They will once again wear the Marinepool flag offshore and ashore. The Transat Jacques Vabre will rally Le Havre to Itajai in Brazil and will start on November 3rd.
