Excitement and emotions at the BMW Sailing Cup in Grömitz, Germany

On September 7th and 8th, the BMW Sailing Cup was hosted in Grömitz, Germany, where the regatta was sailed in the Baltic Sea. Saturday as the first racing day was blessed with sunny and warm temperatures as well as with good wind conditions that enabled nine exciting races on this day: neck-and-neck races and close maneuvers where the standard of this racing day,creating an atmosphere of excitement and competition. However, on Sunday, the strong wind conditions did only allow to start for the three final races. Hereby, skipper Frank Stuhlemmer and his team were able to conclude the final race successfully and and came off as the winner in Grömitz.

The regatta took place near-shore to the Yacht Club of Grömitz and offered thus not only for the BMW Sailing Cup participants a great week-end but also pure sailing entertainment for all spectators. Furthermore, all visitors were able to enjoy fantastic social activitites and social events around the sailing event including for instance test drives with powerboats and sailing boats as well as face painting for kids and creative do-it-yourself car desgin activities. Undoubtedly, the absolute highlight of this multi-faceted event was the BMW Sailing Cup Dinner wiht live music on Saturday evening, which was hosted in the fabulous ambience of the Yacht Club of Grömitz.

As the official clothing supplier, Marinepool equips participants and staff of the BMW Sailing Cup again in 2013. This year's edition has been already the eighth round of the BMW Sailing Cup as the largest regatta series for amateurs worldwide. The German season has already two events in Essen (September 14th and 15th) and in Berlin (September 20th and 21st) left. As every year, the German final of the BMW Sailing Cup takes place in October, directly after the local races. Finally, the previous stage winners of the various destinations in Germany compete in the German Final for the German Championship. Simultaneously, the German Champion will represent Germany in the BMW Sailing Cup International Final, which will be held in the beginning of next year. Safe the dates for the last two events and grab the chance to get to the German final!
