Austria´s RC44 AEZ announces crew change and has a new ace up the sleeve!

The Austrian entry in the RC44 circuit, Team AEZ, yesterday announced a change of crew. Gerd Habermüller, a previous top bobsled athlete, comes in as Grinder and - at 185cm and 105kgs a muscle packed heavy weight - is the latest addition to the all amateur crew and hoped to bring new speed to manoeuvres. His weight on the other hand means that two crew have to step off the boat in order to keep within the overall weight limit for crews of 680kgs. Habermüller a former Star crew, was part of the successful Red Bull sponsored Extreme 40 team helmed by double Olympic Champion Roman Hagara, in this year´s Asian series.

For the first time in it´s short history, the RC44 Circuit visits Denmark, races will be organized by the Royal Danish Yacht Club off copenhagen. The start gun will fire for ten Syndicates on June 8, among them the two Marinepool partners AEZ 44 with Christian Binder and Rene Mangold and SeaDubai with Markus Wieser, who are aiming at the top spot again in this third Regatta this year, after having won the Match Race of the season opener in Dubai. However, they will have to improve their fleetrace performance to be again on the podium in the overall rankings of the combined Regatta.
