Kick-off of the Tour de France à la Voile on July 4th

The Tour de France à la Voile will stop off with the M34 fleet in 8 cities, from Dunkirk on July 4th to Nice on July 27th.

The 37th edition of this famous crew race will lead the nine registered monotype boats on a more than 1000-mile journey combining offshore and coastal races along the French coast.

Two crews supported by Marinepool, which are already well accustomed to the race, will be on the start line : Daniel Souben on "Courrier Dunkerque 3" and Sidney Gavignet on "Team Omansail". With respectively a 2nd and a 3rd place at the Normandy Sailing Week race which ended 10 days ago, there is no doubt that the competition will be intense and unpredictable.

Daniel Souben and his team will head to Dunkirk from Wednesday " We’ve organised two three-day training sessions to finalise the trimming of our new one-design sails. We are here to win, even though it will be tricky. Our competitors won’t let much go!", says Daniel Souben. Oman Sail’s skipper Sidney Gavignet says he would be happy enough with a third place, and foresees an incredibly challenging fleet. “Those who are usually at the front are looking back now, and they are sometimes taken over as well. It’s promising!”
