Bavaria Charity Cup - Marinepool supports the first edition of the José Carreras Yacht Race

Twelve crews gathered in the Bay of Palma de Mallorca to compete on short and long distances the José Carreras Yacht Race. The race was open to all kind of boats. The crews have engaged great battles on Mallorca waters till the last racing day with a final kick-off given by José Carreras himself.

Alongside 10 German TV stars, who took their first sailing lessons only in April, another boat has particularly drawn the attention:

Together with the professional skipper Lars Liewald, former leukemia patients have sailed aboard "Conte Max" at the Bavaria Charity Cup and reached a remarkable fourth place in the overall ranking. The crew had received an invitation from the so called José Carreras German Foundation against leukemia. This successful event marks a milestone for the Foundation in its fight against leukemia.

The crew of "Conte Max" fought to reach the fourth place leaving in its wake the actors taking part in the race: Johannes Brandrup, Christoph M. Ohrt, Eva Habermann, Dieter Landuris, Sina Bianca Hentschel, Zich Denise, Jessica Boehrs, Daniela Ziegler and Marcus Grüsser.

During the evening prize giving, the José Carreras crews were warmly congratulated. "It's great for an actor to contribute to the remarkable work of José Carreras and his foundation. I had a lot of fun meeting so many wonderful people, "says the actor Dieter Landuris.
