news - BMW Sailing Cup Konstanz, May 25th - 26th

May 28 2013

In 2013, the BMW Sailing Cup enters its 8th round as the worlds largest non-professional regatta series. The cup includes several local regattas that are held on a national level before the best crews from each country compete in the international final at the end of each BMW Sailing Cup season. Last weekend, the on qualifying of the German BMW Sailing Cup took place as an integrated part of the Internationale Bodenseewoche in Konstanz. Hereby,  Klaus Eisenblätter and his team were able to celebrate their victory in Konstanz and thus their participation in the international final.

The BMW Sailing Cup is held on identically constructed J80 boats. The clou of the regatta is the composition of the participating crews. Indeed, the crew members apply as an individual sailor and thus the teams are made up by individuals that do not know each other before they are mixed into teams.

In 2012 the BMW Sailing Cup registered more than 1500 participants.

This year, the upcoming BMW Sailing Cup events are as follows:

06.-07.07.2013: Magdeburg, Barleber See

17.-18.08.2013: Wismar, Ostsee

24.-25.08.2013: Frankfurt am Main
