news - Heading for Weymouth!

July 30 2012

Marinepool, Official Supplier of the French Sailing Team, has been supporting the projects of the Fédération Française de Voile (French Sailing Association) for many years. Marinepool is proud to partner the best French sailors reaching out for noble metal in Weymouth.

The French Sailing Team has a fair chance of bringing noble metal back home: 16 athletes have been selected to represent France for each of the 10 sailing events – dinghy, keelboat, windsurfing. They will all compete on Weymouth waters from July 29th to August 11th.

Damien Seguin and Bruno Jourdren, two disabled sailors dressed by Marinepool, have been selected to wear French colours from 1 to 6 September in Weymouth. Damien Seguin, who will be at the start line onboard its 2.4 keelboat, was given the honor to be the delegation's flag-bearer for France at the Opening Ceremony. A first for a sailor! The triple world champion, seven times winner of the French Olympic Week, but also second at the Transat Jacques Vabre 2011 in class 40, will once again be the favorite on British waters.
