Just in time for the start of the racing season in Europe, the national sailing team is complete: The white hope for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro will be Tobias Schadewaldt and Hannes Baumann in the 49er class and Roland and Nahid Gaebler in the mixed catamaran class.

The declared target of the STG: To win medals. More than 100 members of the STG will start in Rio. Two established top teams: the world number one in 49, Tobias Schadewaldt (Oldenburg) and Hannes Baumann (Kiel) and Roland and Nahid Gaebler (Tinglev / Denmark), multiple World Champion in the Tornado class.

The couple Gaebler counts to the best in the Tornado class in the world. They want to complete their title collection in Rio de Janeiro.  Roland and Nahid Gaebler won every title from World Cup to German Championship but an Olympic medal is missing.
Every member of the STG will use their chance to bring the German sailing sport to the top of the world.
