Marinepool is official clothing partner of ITCA and the 2011 Topcat World Championship
The International Topcat Class Association (ITCA) is one of the most active class associations. The Topcat family is renown for organizing high quality events with a high professional standard and excellent social program.
This year the world championship will be held in the heart of Europe on lake Traunsee, off Ebensee a venue well known in the sailing world for the RC44 Austria Cup.
The host club, Segelclub Ebensee (www.scebensee.at) is located in one of the areas of Austria with the most reliable wind conditions and therefore famous well beyond Austria. The club has invested a lot into infrastructure over the pas years and is therefore well prepared to host big events with a large numbers of participating boats. After re-opening the new club house and a re-build of the club marina in 2000, the Austrian Sailing Federation has appointed SCE as the Sailing Center Upper Austria, underlining the great experience and means of the club as a host for events. Since then the club has had open doors for a variety of classes for training purposes and regattas.
TOPCAT held a regatta at the venue in 2007 and reported about the great hospitality showed by the SCE and the superb wind conditions during the race.
Lake Traunsee is one of the 76 lakes in the Salzkammergut region, located in the center of one of the most interesting regions of Austria, known for it´s great variety in cultural, touristic and vacational opportunities. The sailing venue is known for thermical wind in the direction of the 1592m high Feuerkogel and the Traun valley towards the town of Bad Ischl. A perfect venue for sportive sailing also famous with kite surfers. All this promises great sailing at the Topcat World Championship 2011, especially that the championship is held during the driest time of the year. The club house of SCE offers a restaurant, modern facilities and offers space for 80 persons. Three slip ramps and more than enough space for 100+ Topcats are part of a perfect infrastructure.
The Topcat Class Association, SCE and Marinepool look forward to a great event with perfect preconditions: Excellent organization at land and on the race course, easy access by car in the heart of Europe and a great holiday destination for the accompanying family and friends.
