Starting Gun for 14th Match Race Germany 2011

Whow will take the silver wares at the German Grand Prix?

The number of favorites is bigger than ever. There are no less than five helmsman at the start who are ranking in the ISAF Match Race Ranking top 10 currently. The yachts are brand new, there will be live TV coverage on the web: Tuesday the German Match Race at Langenargen, Bodensee, will be full on with the first official training session scheduled at 9:30am.

Twelve professional teams from nine countries will test the new Bavaria40S yachts in a total of two training sessions before the start of the Grand Prix on Wednesday 9am. At stake are valuable points for the world championship ranking on the World Match Racing Tour (WMRT) and 50.000 Dollars price money.

More than 100 duels boat to boat will lead to the final of the best match racers of the world on Sunday, May 29 in the early afternoon. Organizer Match Center Germany and the Langenargen Yacht Club with race officer Rudi Magg expect approximately 35.000 spectators and visitors to the sailing festival on Bodensee, offering world class sailing and an attractive on-shore and evening program with cultural highlights and concerts (free admission).
