Marinepool in the America´s Cup

Marinepool is proud  partner of Energy Team France as “Official Technical Clothing Supplier” in their for the 34th America´s Cup.

Energy Team France is the only French challenger for the 34th America´s Cup and is headed by Loick and Bruno Peyrons, heroes in France and two of the most celebrated sailing figures around the globe. The syndicate is officially backed by the prestigious Yacht Club de France.

Loick, the younger of the two brothers is one of the most accomplished multihull sailors and particularly famous for his achievements as skipper of “Fujicolor”.

Loick won the the ORMA championship for trimarans in 1996, 1997, 1999 and 2002 and the Transat on Gitana 80. He was crew on Alinghi in the 33rd America´s Cup and winner of the Barcelona World Race with Jean Pierre Dick. Most recently with only 43 days he set a new world record around the world on the maxi trimaran Banque Populaire.

Bruno, his elder brother, has an equally impressive sailing track record. He was the first winner of the Jules Verne Trophy in 1994, completing a round-the-world trip in 80 days. He did it again in 2005 when he set an outright round-the-world sailing record of 50 days on Orange II.

But Bruno has also exceptional experience of organising and managing sailing challenges as one of the masterminds behind “The Race”, an epic non-stop around-the-world race in 100 foot catamarans which stunned the world.

Competitors for most of the past 30 years they joined forces last winter to win the ultimate prize in sailing and bring it for the frist time ever to France. With their experience, their sailing skills and technological knowhow they will be a formidable team to be reckoned with.
